Power of Prayer
I have always been someone who has struggled with prayer- I either felt like I don't know what to exactly say, I would forget to do it, or I just felt intimidated by it. This past week has completely changed my mind about these thoughts. God has truly been speaking to me this week about the power of prayer. He has been showing me left and right that prayer is something that I need in my life to build that concrete relationship with him.
Prayer is not something I should be afraid of, or intimidated by; it should bring me comfort and guidance. It should simply be a conversation between me and the one person who knows me the best. He sees my struggles. He sees my triumphs. I need to have that conversation with him to feel at peace with my struggles. Prayer is the opportunity to bring both my wishes and my worries to God and have the faith that He is listening.
It's also important to be thankful for the unanswered prayers. God knows what He is doing and where He is leading me. He has a plan and I need to simply trust Him. In those moments of frustration when God wasn't answering my prayers, it was tough to keep my faith. However, looking back those unanswered prayers ended up being some of the biggest blessings in my life. God is there at all times and He is listening at all times.
Prayer is that bridge that connects us to Our Father. It is there at any moment of the day for me to communicate with him. It is often overlooked in society today and not relied upon like it should be. Having a conversation with God should be one of the most important parts of my day. He loves me and wants to hear what is on my mind; all I have to do is pray about it.
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
-Phillippians 4:6-7
